In 2008 we designed the licentiate thesis of Jonas Runberger, a Stockholm-based architect. Four years later, we were again asked to help with the design and production of his doctoral thesis.

While the physical format of the book was determined by its predecessor, our challenge was to bring clarity to the organization of content and to make the extensive cross-references throughout the book overviewable. We created a workable grid system for text and images, and a simple yet effective typographic hierarchy in order to maintain legibility and elegance in face of the density and complexity of the book's content.
